To truly know Prince of Peace
you must know what things we hold important. The values of our faith community are
described below. We strive to hold these values as our own and hope that if you are
searching for a community of Christ's people, you will find these values present not only
on this piece of paper but in our lives.
We are called to make God the number one
priority in our lives. This means coming together on Sunday for corporate worship, fully
participating in these services, and offering our lives daily in prayer and thanksgiving
so that we may be of service to God in the world. We express our commitment to worship by
our Sunday morning attendance, by participation in the Sacraments of Baptism, Marriage,
and Burial, by serving at healing and nursing home services, and by taking communion to
the home bound. We worship as active members of the Acolytes, Altar Guild, Bells, Choir,
Daughters of the King, Greeters, Health Ministry, Lay Eucharist Ministers, Lectors, Prayer
Ministry and Ushers.
We are called to make this world and
community a better place for children. We strive to honor our responsibility to young
people through Alpha Kids, Boy Scouts, Children's Bells, Childrens Choir, Children's
Ministry, Confirmation instruction, Faithful Families, Jr. Daughters of the King, nursery
care, Sunday school education and Youth Ministry for Middle and Sr. High students.
We are called to honest communication,
teamwork, support, and love. This is the way our Christian community must operate. Our
monthly newsletters, weekly bulletins, verbal announcements, Internet web site, electronic
mail system, open committee meetings and occasional forums help keep lines of
communication accessible and unrestricted.
We are called to share our faith in Jesus
Christ with those who do not know him. Jesus great commission gives us the directive to
share the treasure that we have. Our treasure is our faith. We participate in evangelism
through advertising, Alpha, Children's Ministry, Convalescent Home Worship, Cursillo, Food
Coalition, Poppys, Princes Players, Rector's Coffees, Sports Committee, welcome
calls and Youth Ministry.
These values makes us a Christian community.
May God who has given us the grace and the will to be God's community give us the power of
the Holy Spirit to accomplish all this and more.
In Christ Jesus,
