Almighty God, we praise You for our growth and the opportunity to expand our facility.  Grow in us an awareness of Your Spirit.  Bless us with generous hearts.  Guide and direct the Capital Fundraising Campaign to Your glory, and keep our eyes fixed on You and Your kingdom.  Protect our steps and move us forward in faith.

  In Jesus Name.

Amen.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why are we building a Youth/Multi-Purpose Building?

In the parish-wide survey sent to all members of our congregation, this was the first choice of new facilities because it provided a permanent “home” for our youth group, a larger and better designed space for the choir to meet and practice, and additional meeting space where church groups (e.g. Poppy’s and Crafts Group) could meet on a regular basis – no offices will be in this building.  The new space will also help to relieve the impossible use schedule all of our other facilities are called on to meet.

2. Is our goal of $700,000 enough to complete the Youth/Multi-Purpose building?

Yes.  We have tried to be conservative enough in our forecast of costs to fund the design work, construction, and limited landscaping around the building with these funds.  Additionally, this level of funding might allow us to complete the proposed new vehicle turn-out on Rudnick Avenue (near the Church’s front steps) that will allow people to be dropped-off and picked-up.

In fact, our original goal was to raise $1.6 million to do two new buildings but we listened to you, and from what we heard, we scaled back our goal, focused on a funding level that was attainable and decided to build the building that was the first choice of the majority of the congregation – the youth and multi-purpose building.

3. What happens if we do not meet our funding goal?  Would the Church borrow money?

Considering the congregation’s vocal support for the Master Plan, we are confident that we will meet this goal.  But if we fall short on our fund raising efforts, we would 1) determine if a scaled back plan for the new building was viable, 2) consider identifying other funding sources within the church (e.g. parishioners who did not pledge during the campaign), and 3) identify viable commercial funding sources to close the gap - debt.  This information would be shared with the parish and the leadership would meet to decide to either abandon the project or move forward once funding was secured.

4. How long will it take to complete the new building?

The new building could be completed in late 2002 or early 2003.  It will take six months to one year to complete the needed design work and gain the necessary approvals from the City to build a new building.  Once approvals are received and permits obtained, it should take eight to ten months to build the building.

5. Is it possible I will be asked for another pledge at a future date?

Not for this portion of our Master Plan.  However, our Master Plan calls for two other new buildings, remodeling the Upper and Lower Halls, an addition to the south side of sanctuary for administrative offices, the expansion of the Rose Garden, the development of a new parking lot on the north side of our property, and improved landscaping on our campus and in the existing parking lot. Therefore, to complete the whole plan, another capital campaign might be pursued.

6. Will I be contacted soon?

Yes, you will be contacted by a volunteer gift caller from the Forward in
Faith Campaign within the next few weeks. Please be prayerfully considering
what your gift could be so you can promptly return your pledge card after
           someone contacts you.

Remember that gifts can be spread out over three years
  with you picking the
start date for your payments to begin. No initial
payment is necessary when you
              turn in your pledge card.

With 100% POP participation, we hope to reach our goal not only with gifts spread out
over three years but also with one-time gifts (no dollar
amount is too large or too small).
If a one-time gift works better for you,
just indicate this on your pledge card.

Where do I return my pledge card?

You can return your pledge card at the patio table on Sundays through the
month of June, place them in the collection plate, or mail them in the envelope
             provided,  Attn: Campaign Office.

       7.   I still have questions. Where can I get more information?

For additional questions,  contact Tom Carnahan, Carol Barker or Fr Rand.

We will be formally ending the Forward in Faith Campaign on June 24th with a
