Notes from Annual Meeting – January 31, 2010

 

Quorum established

 

Meeting called to order 10:49 a.m.

 

Approved members for Vestry by written and voice votes.

 

New to Vestry – Kendall Childs, Simon Frost, George Packer, Bruce Roe, Annelie Rugg – all three year terms.

 

Retiring Vestry: Elizabeth Hart, Barbara Partridge, Bruce Scholfield, Dauna Packer, Dan Hedrick. The retiring vestry members are thanked for their service.

 

Continuing Vestry – 1 year left – Carol Barker, Sue Ferron, Stu Finke, and Greg Michael. 2 years left – Dennis Bartz, Nancy Bragg, Kathy Carlson, and Charlotte Doctor.

 

Stewardship – Carol Barker

            96% of last year’s budget has been pledged.

 

Budget – RoseAnn Zarasua

            2009 balance about $2,000.

            2010 will have a balanced budget

 

Children and Families Ministry – Monica Warren

            Our children are learning to SHINE: Share in God’s word, Help others, Invite others to know Jesus, Nurturing friendships, Experience God’s love.

 

Youth Ministry – Lisa Michael

            Over thirty kids in the youth ministry. Twenty of the teens do not have families involved in church. Something new this year has been the supper after contemporary service. The stained glass cross in the window of the Youth Center will be dedicated next week.

 

Music Ministry – Boude Moore

            An Emmy to all!

 

Pastoral Associate’s Comments – Father Brian Bailey

            Onions – Defend the core, where the green sprouts come from (growth).

 

Junior Warden – Barbara Partridge

            50th Birthday Party of the church was this past year. Barbara will be working on setting up a vegetable garden and a getting new Food Pantry building for the coming years.

 

 

Senior Warden – Elizabeth Hart

            The outgoing Senior Warden mentioned the new bridge club group that is helping us pay for the building. The staff has been working hard even without a pay raise. Many parishioners attended the Welcoming Church seminar. Alpha has been helpful for both new and older persons in the church. We have installed new stained glass windows in the Sanctuary, a garden around labyrinth, and formed a committee to help the West Valley Food Pantry have their own building on the campus.  

 

Appointment of the New Senior Warden – Father Rand has appointed Carol Barker to be the new Senior Warden.
