Save the Date The Kol Tikvah Food Drive will be Thursday, October 9th. Sorting will begin at midday; call the Pantry at (818)346-5554 for time.

Thanks to those donating food either individually or through food drives, such the San Fernando Valley Quilt Association who delivered 278 cans.

Supermarket Food Drive Help is needed Saturday October 11th in front of Albertson’s Market at Victory and Fallbrook in two hour shifts, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Call Al Trumpler (818) 887-9384.  

Volunteer News Many thanks to Joyce Scott for her many years of service as Secretary of the Pantry Board. Also thanks to John Willauer, who has done double duty, picking up tomatoes at Pierce College. Welcome to newly trained volunteers: Tom Casserly, Lisa and Jenna Kolinsky, Carol Lombard, Miriam Mandell, Barbara Perkins, Michael Wacker, Kelly Weiss and Doris Shane. We appreciate their trainers, too, Leslie Jackson and Karen Zarachoff.

Hunger Fact According to a recent poll, 65% of U.S. voters said that rising food prices have had an impact on them, including 28% who are worried they or someone they know will go hungry.
