MANY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED MAY 9 FOR HUGE FOOD DRIVE We will be sorting food as it arrives from the Woodland Hills Post Office; last year a total of 19,900 lbs. of food was received. Please be at the Prince of Peace parking lot, 5700 Rudnick St., at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, where sorting will continue until dark, and again on Sunday from 8 a.m. until done. We also need drivers with trucks to transport food from the P.O.; call Al Trumpler (818) 887-9384, if you can help.  

CITRUS SUNDAY PRODUCE COLLECTION MAY 3 From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., drop off washed, bagged citrus at a fire station near you. Call Greig Smith’s office for participating stations (818) 756-8501. Thanks go to the Councilman’s office and Valley Interfaith Council for their organization of this effort.

-SUPERMARKET FOOD DRIVES Help is needed Saturday, May 2nd at Ralph’s on the north side of Victory west of Fallbrook, Saturday, May 9th at Albertson’s on the south side of Victory west of Fallbrook, and Saturday, May 16th at Ralph’s on the north side of Sherman Way east of Shoup. All consist of two hour shifts, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Call Jeff Albee to sign up for the May 2nd drive (818) 731-7385, Al Trumpler for the others (818) 887-9384.

WE NEED CASH-OFF SUPERMARKET COUPONS Some are in Entertainment books or the newspaper; others come in the mail. Please leave them with the shift leader at the Pantry.

PLEASE DROP OFF A MAGAZINE OR TWO Our clients welcome them. Current, quality magazines in English are in short supply. Be sure to clip off your address. Thank you Sue Keating for this idea.

TRIBUTES For a minimum donation of $5, you can help the Pantry and honor or remember someone. Please send the name of the person you wish to remember/honor and the reason for it, along with your check, to Earl Lewis, 6036 Shirley Ave., Tarzana, CA 91356. Also, please let us thank you by including your name and address.

IF SOMEONE DROPS OFF A DONATION, please ask them if they would like to receive a thank you note. If so, pull a donation card from the envelope on the bulletin board, fill it out and sign it. You’ll need to ask their name and address, and describe what they donated. Then return the card to the envelope, where it will be passed on to a note writer.
