HOLIDAY HELPERS WANTED to carry and stock Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, 8:15 to 8:30 a.m. start time.

THANK YOU LOS COLINAS DISTRICT BOY SCOUTS for collecting and donating 9,238 lbs. of non-perishable food. Also, thanks go to 160 Scouts and 70 adults for set up, sorting, packing and clean-up the day of the Drive November 20th. Congratulations Drive coordinators John Willauer and Elliot Brown.

THANK YOU HENRY’S MARKET for at least 600 large grocery bags of non-perishable food donated for Thanksgiving. A high five to BSA Troops 99 and 22 for sorting, and to Al Trumpler, Lynn Gilson and John Willauer for transporting from Henry’s to the Pantry.

PLEASE DROP OFF TOYS at the Pantry by Friday, December 17th for the holiday toy store December 18th.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for monthly supermarket food drive. Help is needed Saturday, December11th at Albertson’s on the south side of Victory west of Fallbrook. It consists of two hour shifts, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Call Al Trumpler to sign up (818) 887-9384.

VOLUNTEER NEWS Our condolences go to the family and friends of Gene Broth, who passed away recently. He and his wife, Merril, have been key supporters of the Pantry for years. Welcome new volunteers Francesca Bravos, Hennie Gorelick and Darcy Gray and thanks to their trainers Liz Chaneske and Carole Zemlyn.

NOW, IT IS EASIER TO SERVE OUR NON-ENGLISH OR LIMITED ENGLISH SPEAKING CLIENTS. The Board has adopted a bilingual application card in English and Spanish as the sole registration card for all future registrations.  This will help us continue our long-standing policy of helping meet the food needs of eligible people in the West San Fernando Valley, regardless of their native language.  By signing or initialing any registration card for any client, you will be acknowledging that you have read and are familiar with this policy. If you have any questions, please ask your shift leader.  

FOOD PANTRY T-SHIRTS ON SALE AT THE PANTRY Long-sleeve Small, Medium and Large, and some short-sleeve Large are available for $7 each to help the Pantry.

TRIBUTES For a minimum donation of $5, you can help the Pantry and honor or remember someone. Please send the name of the person you wish to remember/honor and the reason for it, along with your check, to Earl Lewis, 6036 Shirley Ave., Tarzana, CA 91356. Also, please let us thank you by including your name and address.

MEN’S CLOTHING, SHOES AND BELTS IN SMALL SIZES NEEDED by the Family Rescue Center, a Canoga Park food pantry and clothes closet. The Center is located at the Canoga Park Presbyterian Church, 22103 Vanowen. If interested, please drop off items at the Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

THE WEST VALLEY FOOD PANTRY WILL BE CLOSED DECEMBER 24-25 AND DECEMBER 31–JANUARY 1 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s.
