Service

Garden Time—  We are searching for families who want to gain a green thumb.  We are ready to plant again in the Community Garden but really need your help.  We will hold a meeting after church on February 11th to start planting.  If you have cool season veggies you would like to donate we will be very appreciative.  Barbara Partridge will be on the patio after church on Sunday, February 5 to discuss the work in the garden.  We would like to see this as a family project.  Plantings will be on going and harvesting will be on Wednesday and Sundays.  Call Elizabeth Hart or Barbara Partridge with questions.

Recycle Your Christmas Cards—  Do you still have Christmas Cards waiting to be disposed of?  Please give them to Grace Mizumoto directly or through the church office.  These cards are valuable to some Episcopal Churches in Japan dedicated to making them into new ones for resale.  One church recently wrote a thank-you note to Grace saying that the money collected last year was donated to support six children through college under the foster-child program in the Philippines.  Thank you for your help!

FIRST WORK PARTY OF THE NEW YEAR!  Many of you have been asking, “George, when’s our next work party? We got so much done at the last one and such wonderful fellowship.” Well, ask no more: here it is, Saturday, February 11 from 8am to Pizza Time (noonish). We’ve got lots to do to “Welcomize” our welcoming church, as we have the Welcoming Priest, Steve Wendfelt, coming the following weekend, February 18 to check us out!! Also, and here’s a big treat, three (3) local Presbyterian churches, Woodland Hills, Kirk of the Valley and St. James, have come up with grant money to help the Food Pantry purchase a new double door refrigerator and their members want to help in preparing the kitchen for the installation, so some of their folks are joining us on the 11th. So see George or Roman on the patio between/after services to reserve your spot on the Work Party Team!!
