SACRAMENTS AND CELEBRATIONS
Holy Baptism
Initiation into the Church by water and the Holy Spirit is celebrated at the 10:00 a.m. service on four Sundays a year. Sponsors and/or candidates must attend pre-baptismal instruction class.

Young Persons' Communion Celebration
Prince of Peace does not have a 'first communion ritual.' All who are baptized are welcome to eat at the Lord's table. During the Easter Season, our Kindergarten through Second Grade classes have a special six-week unit on the meaning of communion.

They then join the congregation for a special celebration of communion during the Easter Season.

Confirmation
This sacrament is most appropriate for those who were baptized as infants or who have rejoined the church after a prolonged absence. It is celebrated regionally in the Los Angeles Diocese during the Easter Season. Confirmation instruction is given during the Lenten season.

Holy Matrimony
The blessing by God of the union between a man and a woman in heart, body, and mind is preceded by premarital counseling. Advance notice of at least three months is required.

Healing/Unction
The sacrament of laying on of hands and anointing with oil those who are sick is a normal practice by the clergy visiting those who are ill or in hospital.

Burial Office
A memorial worship service can be offered from the church as a message of hope to the bereaved and a time for members of the Church to affirm eternal life in Jesus.

Contact the Church office for detailed information.
