Raised in a non-churched home I came to faith in
Jesus during my second year in college at USC. From that moment I felt called to become a disciple of Jesus
Christ. What does that mean? For me it means not only do I want to be a student of Jesus learning all I can
from Him, but also I want to be Jesus’ apprentice and learn to do what He did. What does that mean? I
desire to love God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. I desire to love my neighbor as I love
myself. My ministry, personal and corporate is directed and measured by Jesus great commandment. Jesus
said," 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with
It has been my vision that Prince of Peace always balance ministries that focus on our own spiritual growth
with ministries that focus on the needs of those outside of our community. What a privilege it is to be
called by God to help those outside the church come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and pastor those
inside our community to grow in their relationship with God. Click on the photo to see an additional picture. |

As I was ordained in 1972, that means I have been
a priest for 35 years. Scary! I served in Papua, New Guinea for 12 years and since then at St. Barnabas in
Eagle Rock and St. Judes in Burbank. I also have a Bachelor's degree, two Master's Degrees, and a PH.D, swell! What's
that all good for? Beats me - I used to be able to recite the list of Hittite Kings in order and I get to
teach Anglican Way. After that, it's up for you to decide.
I am convinced of two or three things. One of them is that the Holy Scriptures are an entirely reliable
statement and record of God's interaction with us. Another is that Jesus, the Christ is God's son and was
raised from the dead. The last is that everyone ought to make a personal choice for Him at some time or
other in their lives. |

I came to POP in Feb. 1988, and was ordained here in June of 1988.
After many incredible years of ministry, I retired in 2005 only to come back on part-time in 2006. Tina, my dog, and I are very glad
to be back making weekly pastoral visits on Thursdays and assisting in services two Sundays a month.
Three grandchildren fill my retirement time with great joy: Sienna lives in Colorado with my son, Toby and Jenny. Wally and
Henry live in Santa Barbara with my daughter, Colleen and Mike.
With more free time, I am enjoying doing stained glass, gardening,
reading, crocheting, visiting museums, and traveling.

Being part of Prince of Peace, both as a parishioner and as a staff member,
is a blessing. I am able to assist in the day-to-day working of the church while being part of the church family.
As Children's Bell Director, I have the opportunity to work with young parishioners. It is an exciting part of my work at
Prince of Peace as it allows me to help integrate children into the worship experience where they have an important and vital role.

It is a blessing to partner with families in building a spiritual foundation
for God's children. Our children's spiritual development needs to be nurtured, and together with families, we strive to help children
become spiritual CHAMPIONS. We are intentional with our efforts towards this end as we, like our Father, believe in every child's kingdom
potential. Click on the photo to see an additional picture. |
I am a graduate of California State University, Northridge and have been
actively supporting worship through music ministry for more than 40 years. I have been the organist and music director at Prince
of Peace since 1988. The varied music program includes mixed choir, men’s choir, and brass ensembles and a handbell program of seven
graded ensembles. Click on the photo to see an additional picture. |
