Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:

I want to share with you that we are going to suspend Sunday worship for the next three weeks: March 15, 22, and 29. With so much medical uncertainty about the Corona virus, this is prudent.

Some of you might see this as over reactive; however, as the spiritual leader of this community, and in consultation with other leaders and health professionals in our church, I have come to the conclusion that this action is the responsible path to follow. We have a faith community where many of our parishioners fall into the categories of most “at risk” for serious illness. Let’s do all we can to keep one another healthy.

Having said this, I want to make sure that this faith community continues in our worship of Almighty God, and that our prayer needs, and those of the greater community, have a normal Sunday expression. Over the last 60+ years, every Sunday, the love of Jesus has been preached, prayers of the people have been offered, and the Sacrament of Communion received. You know the teaching that the people not the location are the church. We are going to have to be the Church in a new way until we know the ramifications of this pandemic.

Though the church building will not be open to worshipers, the clergy will celebrate Holy Communion at 8am and at 10 will lead Morning Prayer. Details of how you can join this Sunday’s Morning Prayer worship online at 10 am will follow. We will share lessons, a sermon, and offer prayers to our God.

We live in challenging times. Please look for an email from Prince of Peace tomorrow for instructions and plan to join us for Morning Prayer Live from Prince of Peace. This is a time we need to be together and this is a safe way to do it.

Grace and Peace,
Fr. Rand+
